Day Three Hundred and Thirty Five - Taking Temperature

We've now entered the last week before Emmi's due date, so I've now started taking her temperature twice daily.  Not that we're expecting a drop just yet, but it's good to establish a pattern, as Emmi's temperature has fluctuated a little with her last litters.

So far we have:
  • Tuesday evening - 37.5
  • Wednesday morning - 37.3
  • Wednesday evening - 37.4

So I feel safe going to work for my last day tomorrow!  LOL

I had an interesting discovery this evening however, coming across the several strategic holes in my garden that Emmi is creating.  I usually expect this with her, and normally would spot her with dirt on her nose and paws, but she'd managed to create them quite cleanly this time, so I almost missed that the nesting has commenced.

Luckily, despite creating the holes, Emmi is quite happy to use her much more attractive whelping box when the time comes - popping herself into it for the first baby when she came into labour before I expected the last time (yes, covered in mud from the hole she considered as her first option!).
